Soviet and Russian mathematician, one of the first to propose the concept of quantum computing. In 1980, he published the work 'Computable and Noncomputable', where he introduced the idea of a quantum automaton. Made fundamental contributions to algebraic geometry, number theory, and mathematical physics.

Biography

Born in Simferopol. Studied at Moscow State University, where he later became a professor. Worked at the Steklov Mathematical Institute. From 1992 he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn. Member of many academies, winner of the Lobachevsky Prize and other awards.
