JWST data: the first galaxies formed in surprisingly light, almost weightless halos of dark matter.

The first galaxies turned out to be humble dwellers of light houses made of dark matter. With JWST, scientists saw that 13 billion years ago, stellar cities gathered in clouds 20 times lighter than later. This changes the picture of the Universe's growth.

🎯 Ancient galaxies are found by their ultraviolet 'disappearance' — hydrogen fog acts as a cosmic rangefinder, allowing us to peer 13 billion years into the past.
