As a newborn, the Universe huffed and puffed like a steam train — squeezing and stretching. Now and then it ‘coughed up’ black holes the size of a sand grain, yet as heavy as a star. Turns out, this cosmic cough doesn’t drown out the Big Bang’s echo. So these invisible holes could be the dark matter we’ve been looking for.
