Light Doesn't Boost Superconductors
A superconductor is a material where electrons pair up and move without resistance. In conventional superconductors (s-wave), these pairs are identical in all directions, like a perfect sphere. But there are others, d-wave, where pairing resembles a four-leaf clover: stronger in some directions, weaker in others, and vanishing entirely at special points — the nodes.
