Abstract
Scientists used a rapid radio-communication method (like radar) to probe ultra-thin wires that could become the core of super-stable quantum computers. These wires may hide special 'ghost' particles that defend calculations from errors. The experiment showed the method works even in a magnetic field—a must-have for such states to appear. What if these very wires one day help us tame the quantum world?
