The universe is filled with invisible radio noise, and the ancient hydrogen signal has a strange dip. The culprit might be axions: ghost particles that sometimes turn into radio waves, as if a pendulum swung from invisible pushes. This discovery could explain two mysteries at once and provide a key to dark matter.
