Quantum uncertainty in the order of events can make heat flow from cold to hot.

Usually heat flows from hot to cold. But if you scramble the order of events at the quantum level, sometimes cold can heat hot. Scientists recreated this “wrong” heat flow in the lab and turned it into a tiny engine-refrigerator. Perhaps it's a step toward quantum machines running on the strange rules of the microworld.

🎯 This effect echoes Maxwell's demon — a thought experiment once believed to violate the laws of physics. But here the loophole is legal and based on quantum uncertainty in the order of events.
