The sound shadow in a water vortex behaves almost like that of a black hole: the faster the water spins, the more the shadow shifts and distorts. Now we have a clear way to measure this in the lab and better understand the rotation of real black holes.

🎯 For real black holes, rotation also distorts the shadow: it becomes egg-shaped and shifts in the direction of rotation—just like in our water model.
