Drop a pebble in a pond: ripples curve. Far out at sea, waves look flat. Gamma-ray bursts work the same. A nearby blast sends curved waves. By measuring that tiny curve with spacecraft, we can catch an evaporating black hole. Future detectors might find one just beyond Pluto.
