A new quantum method measures light delays with 10-picosecond precision by distinguishing photon colors.

Two photons met on a semi-transparent mirror and... exited together, like synchronized dancers. If one is slightly late, the trick disappears. But physicists found a way to notice a delay as small as 4 picoseconds — a thousand times faster than an eye blink. This ushers in an era of quantum stopwatches for the networks of the future.
