A camera the size of a large coin aboard the Japanese Hayabusa2 probe has for the first time confidently caught distant giant planets crossing their stars. This success means tiny instruments will be able to uncover elusive long-period worlds.

🎯 The ONC-T camera was originally built for navigation during landing on asteroid Ryugu—now it's snagged an astronomical record.
