Physicists turned a single electron in a diamond into a tiny motor that runs not on heat, but on quantum coherence. After a few cycles, it cranked out almost twice the energy of a regular heat-based counterpart. Such quantum batteries could become the foundation for future machines where every component obeys the laws of the microworld.

🎯 Quantum coherence is extremely fragile: the slightest disturbance throws off the rhythm. Yet this motor runs at ordinary room temperature, without bulky refrigerators. Such resilience feels almost miraculous — and suggests that quantum machines might one day leave the lab.
