Hot cools faster than cold? Sounds like a trick, but it's the real Mpemba effect. And now physicists have found its quantum analog: by controlling the synchronicity of atoms, you can make a system reach equilibrium faster. What's more — you can swap the "lazy" and "speedy" ones. Future nanotechnology could use this trick to cool microchips.

🎯 Ironic twist: the ordinary Mpemba effect still has no single explanation — evaporation, convection, supercooling are blamed. Yet its quantum twin can already be reversed.
