The black hole at the center of galaxy VV 340a acts like a cosmic spinning top: its jet wobbles and flings out gas at a rate of 19 solar masses per year. Robbed of building material, the galaxy stops making new stars.

🎯 In one full wobble cycle, the jet ejects about 16 million solar masses—more than the mass of many globular star clusters.
