Black hole shadows have helped test loop quantum gravity theory: quantum corrections are almost imperceptible, yet they still change the silhouette of the abyss.

Black holes might be 'fuzzy' due to quantum ripples in space. The Event Horizon Telescope tested this via the shadow—and it turns out the corrections are actually detectable. Perhaps Einstein wasn't entirely accurate at the very edge of the abyss.
