For the first time, scientists have seen the supermassive black hole at the Milky Way’s heart unleashing a hot wind.

At the center of our Galaxy, the black hole has 'turned on a hair dryer.' It spews a hot wind that disperses cold gas clouds. This explains why it’s so empty around it and helps us understand how black holes control entire galaxies.

🎯 Although black holes are famous for sucking everything in, they can also 'exhale' — flinging matter out as hot wind.
