The quantum internet just got a boost. Physicists made two ions 'feel' each other almost five times faster by sending light through ten temporal channels at once — like a multi-lane highway for photons. This is the first such trick with ion traps, and it promises to make quantum networks much faster, bringing us closer to the era of secure communication and ultra-powerful distributed computing.
