Typically, quantum states can only be created with dozens of photons. Now scientists have devised a way to make 'light packs' of 100,000 particles, using a trick with imaginary lenses. The most surprising part: the more photons, the faster they can be assembled. This could lead to new ultra-sensitive sensors and secure quantum computing.
