The diffusion equation, once thought to violate relativity, actually just crudely describes particles that obey Einstein.

Does an ink drop spread in water faster than light? That's how it seems because of the diffusion equation. It turns out microscopically, particles still obey Einstein — which paves the way for building consistent relativistic models with irreversible processes.

🎯 The thermal speed of water molecules is about 500 m/s, which is 600,000 times slower than light. In practice, diffusion never actually violated the theory.
