To believe in a finding of alien life, you'd need to check thousands of planets—otherwise false signals will fool you. But there's a nifty trick: divide the planets into two groups and compare them, like A/B testing. This could work with just a couple dozen worlds.

🎯 To confidently detect life, the HWO telescope would need to study thousands of planets, but its program is limited to 25. The group approach reduces the required number by tens or hundreds of times.
