Using neutron tomography—like an X-ray for rocks—the NWA 7034 meteorite revealed sponge-like minerals stuffed with water. Their structure matches what the Perseverance rover sees in Jezero Crater: ancient Martian crust likely stored water everywhere in the form of rust.
