A planet made of soot and carbon molecules orbits a dead pulsar star. This is surprising: normally such worlds — stellar remnants — should contain lots of silicon and oxygen. The mystery of the carbon giant challenges astrophysics.

🎯 Planet PSR J2322-2650b completes a full orbit around the pulsar in 3.3 hours — faster than any human-made satellite in low Earth orbit.
