Invisible Black Holes Leave a Mark in Gamma-Ray Light
A swarm of tiny ice balls is scattered across a warm room. Some melt faster, others slower, but when only wet spots remain, they all vanish in the same way: the last drop evaporates according to the same law. This is roughly how primordial black holes behave — hypothetical objects born in the first moments after the big bang.

Dark Matter from Bubbles
The hot broth of the early universe cooled unevenly. At some point, bubbles of a new phase began to pop within it, like steam bubbles in boiling water. But these bubbles weren't made of steam; they were made of a new state of matter in which particles of the dark sector clumped into larger lumps. That's how dark matter could have been born.
