Higgs Under the Microscope: How Its Decays Are Caught
The Higgs boson lives an unimaginably short life — less than a billionth of a second. It cannot be caught directly, so physicists look at what remains after its decay: jets of particles, muons, neutrinos. But some information is lost if you consider only the explicit decay traces rather than the whole event.

The Seven Faces of Disorder
In 1958, Philip Anderson showed that strong disorder can stop a wave. Since then, physicists have discovered that between complete stoppage and free travel there are intermediate regimes. A particle can not only stand still or fly, but also jitter in place, pulse, or combine several types of motion at once.
