A radio telescope catches a signal lasting a few milliseconds, and in that instant, energy comparable to what the Sun emits over days is released. This is a fast radio burst, a millisecond radio pulse from a distant galaxy. Since their discovery in 2007, astrophysicists have debated what causes them.

The Oort Cloud is a spherical swarm of trillions of icy bodies at the very edge of the Solar System, about a light-year from the Sun. These objects are almost motionless relative to one another until some gravitational disturbance breaks their calm.

Two black holes circle in a slow dance, gradually drawing closer. Their motion perturbs spacetime itself, like two heavy balls rolling on a stretched sheet, making it tremble. These tremors are what we call gravitational waves.
